ELIE, MANITOBA TORNADO 2007

Postby triplepoint » Thu Sep 20, 2007 12:31 pm

(hope this is an international thread also...:P)

Canadian experts have now confirmed and reclassified the Elie, Mantiboba tornado in Canada this year as an F5 upgraded from F4 (Canada don't use the new EF scale). Apparently they got some footage of the tornado when it hit and after assessing the damage readjusted their scale of damage rating. Probably what helped change their minds was the fact that this monster stayed on the ground for 35 minutes and travelled in excess of 35km and that it was slow moving.
I can get photos but as i said in another thread, can't see any options to post pics.
