Seems to be a lot going on there at the moment - Reed Timmer's comments practically spam my Facebook page. :/

Check this out.. one of the Oklahoma Mesonet stations was destroyed by the Tipton tornado. http://ticker.mesonet.org/archive/20111 ... ction2.jpg

HP supercell further east in central Scott and southwest Logan Cos., AR is intensifying rapidly with strong rotation on the second radar tilt just above the ground. People in the path of this storm take cover now!

Tornado warning for Le Flore Co, OK in effect until 1230 CDT.. If there is a tornado it is likely wrapped in rain, and moving through forested/mountainous terrain in extreme southeast OK so will prob not be visible. Couplet is not incredibly intense right now, but take cover regardless as these can spin up fast.

And so on.

Then there is my friend, who is a US Storm Spotter in Iowa: 'YAY IT'S SNOWING!'

Caught on Tape: Amazing lightning strike captured by woman on Pamlico Sound ferry:

By: Richard Klindworth July 02 2012

KINSTON, N.C. - A woman who was on a ferry in the middle of Sunday’s storm caught amazing video of a lightning strike that she shared with 9 On Your Side.

Bonnie Twigg of Kinston was just a stone's throw away from the strike while she was in the middle of the Pamlico Sound.

She says it was too hot inside the ferry, so she and her boyfriend stepped outside to catch some of the 72 mile per hour breezes and video some choppy waves with her cell phone.

“I was praying the whole way, God get us home safe. The Good Lord makes some beautiful scenery but it was time to get off the ferry,” said Twigg, who added, “It was definitely an interesting trip!”
