Why does Eneabba get so hot?

Postby Cmon Aussie Cmon » Thu Jan 13, 2011 6:14 pm

Eneabba's only 20km inland from the sea and it averages in the summer about the same as Mullewa and Morawa which are 100km+ inland and are much further north. Also, Badgingarra is only 50km south-east from Eneabba but Eneabba is over 2 degrees warmer in jan and feb. For example, on Monday Eneabba are forecast 45 wheres morawa is 42 and Badgingarra is 38  Oh yeh, maybe this could explain it??? Do you think all the 'artificial' heat could have an effect on the recordings?

I know up here in Mt. Helena 32km from the coast the sea breeze can be late, like today at 5:30pm it was still 37 degrees. In the city it was about 10 degrees cooler for the same time.

Absolutely they will affect recordings. Thermal mass of that area will be significant compared to a natural area.
