I'm surprised a small H/H UHF CB isn't on the list
they're cheap, easy to operate, use AA batteries
give quite good range
very versatile
all SES units have radios that can use CB
truckies use them, grey nomads etc

very useful for getting yourself out of a pickle

this is definitely a case of
