weather watching vantage points

Postby Fu Manchu » Sat Jul 05, 2008 9:35 am

Where is some of your weather watching vantage points?
Some of mine are Mindarie Marina (because it goes out from the coast with good uninterupted views north and south back onto the beach.)
Trigg Point look out. It is in Ocean Reef and would be the best block of land in Perth. 360 deg views of the whole city. A bit hairy with a storm close by.
Burns Beach car park.
Ocean Reef Marina.

Where's Trigg point look out Fu?

in addition to those ones Hillarys Marina on top of the substation thingy just near the yacht club, awesome view to the NW of approaching storms.

and for further away locations, pretty much anywhere in the wheatbelt were you can see more than 10km into the distance. :) Mt Ommaney in Northam and Mt John(?) in York are probably among the best.

Trigg point lookout...
When you drive along Marmion Ave heading north just after Ocean Reef road there is the Shell servo.
Turn right there at Marina Blvd,
then first right
then first left.
There is a carpark and a big set of stairs.
It's marked by the big white tower.
I bet mobile reception would be average
It's right along side Marmion Ave
