Stumbled across this while looking for something else, the BoM storm spotters newsletter: http://www.bom.gov.au/weather/wa/sevwx/ ... tter.shtml

and this one in particular: http://www.bom.gov.au/weather/wa/sevwx/spapr08.shtml
That tornado photo 2/3 down is a beauty, Tommo, Paul and I were chasing that day and about the same time I recall seeing something that looked like a funnel but it only seemed to last a short while, remember that one Tommo, while we driving west towards Dally?
Kia Kaha, stay strong, live long and above all have fun. :)

I was out that day too tim, was my first chase day. I think I wrote a report about my travels when it happened, I only took my photos from over 100km away so obviously no chance of any funnels.. Still cool to know what was underneath the storm I was looking at though.

We can rename it just in this forum the "world wide Lightning Wog location network"

this is a cool shot of current active lightning and current sunlight plotted globally as well.

Here is a google map to a lot of weather stations online around the world, the link only shows Australia but you can click to see the world, I see Chaser80 and Steerage are on the map and me soon hopefully, you can highlight the flag and a link pops up to go to station, only people running weather display can get a listing so come on tim get onto it

According to that map PK, Chaser80 has moved his station so its now about 10ks off the coast at Yanchep, will be great to see his readings next strong cold front. :P

I've never seen that White Gum Farm aviation site before though, its got an awesome web cam for storm spotting on it:
