Well according to the BoM the lack of rain isn't helping matters, which makes sense, its hard to test and calibrate a rain radar when you don't have any rain echoes to test it on! So a commissioning date is yet to be set, but they assured me that as soon as a commissioning date is set an announcement will be made. So yet another reason to hope we get some decent rainfall before too long, either that or we'll have to send Lert down to Serpentine to wash his car! :)

Great pics Tommo, though it looks like a google map pin on the iphone to me, Image they just need to paint the top of it red. :)
Kia Kaha, stay strong, live long and above all have fun. :)

HEY!
Calm down there Tim!
Lets not get that carried away
Lert washing his car is nothing to be joked about and we can't just send him all over like some novelty rain maker in these less important situations :?
:P

pretty sure high res doppler is only effective upto 100kms for the use of the wind speed direction. either way for cold fronts, and SW coverage it will be much improved, and i feel even the coverage over perth will be much improved also cause there will be no "dead" spots anymore due to its location.
