Home AWS help?

Postby von-Kármán » Fri Nov 25, 2011 10:55 pm

I'd like to buy a proper high quality automatic weather station for my home. It has to be high quality, reliable, easily networkable and have multiple sensor inputs (like 3 or 4 temperature sensors) ... cost not a huge factor, but I do want something close to the best.

Any suggestions?

The US ones are set to a different frequency to australian models. Basically, apparently they don't work in australia.

Why would a different frequency = double the price?

Are you sure that the frequency thing isn't urban myth created to make you buy something more expensive?

Lots of peeps have used US bits.
Try the alibaba website. They have eeeeeverything

These links should help. It may be hit or miss if you buy one from the states.. can also be a legal issue too. And would be hard getting refunds and such.
