Weather Station Choices

Postby herpingmad » Mon Aug 22, 2011 1:05 pm

Hi fellas, been lurking for a while but am now ready! I want to setup a weather station with the intention of eventually streaming data to a webpage. My budget is around $500 and have looked at three units:

Davis Cabled Vantage Pro2 6152C (around $520 on eBay)
Oregon WMR-200 (around $360 on eBay)
La Crosse WS-2812U-IT (around $265 on eBay)

I would love to get the Davis but is expensive and doesn't come standard with the PC data link. I am still leaning toward the Davis as it will be some time before I link it to the PC but am not sure.

Any recommendations or experiences with these or any other models would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

David

How is Ebay's services? Do they give you warranty and stuff like that?

eBay is great, if the item doesn't arrive or is not up to scratch and you don't get anywhere trying to deal with the seller you can get a refund as long as you paid through Paypal. With warranties it depends on the product but I am sure Davis would grant Warranty for this.
