Pressure Change Settings

Postby Snupple » Wed Feb 23, 2011 9:51 am

G'day,

I recently Fine Offset WH3081 and ont he LCD display, you can set the pressure change over a 3hr period that will signify potential rain and then also potential thunderstorm. Does anyone know what these are set to, I think the range is 1-6 hpa

Generally pressure change alone isn't a very good indicator of impending rain or a thunderstorm. Pressure does usually drop before both events but not always and not always by the same amount. Although you could try experimenting with different settings to see how well it picks up rain, I'd start off at around 3hpa change over 3 hours and see how well that goes then adjust up or down accordingly.

I have the exact weather station.
Keeping pressing the menu button until the actual pressure reading is flashing( i think its about 3-4 times.)
Then press the enter button 2 times and then you can calibrate the pressure up or down using the arrows.
When you're finished press the history button.

Post back if this doesn't work. Also, feel free to post on other boards too

Thank you. I'll give that a try when I can get the current correct reading from a friend nearby. I'm 60 meters higher than the nearest BOM weather station, might ring them & ask if they can give me a figure. greg
