Looks like the settled colder spell is coming to an end with some good looking fronts and low pressure this weekend.

So, a whole month of winter and no posts on here. I think we can call this part of the site obselete.

Just for something to say, it seems the first week or two of August look pretty wet over the SW. Looking forward to it.

Bit sad that ppl don't post here any more. I'm not a huge Twitterer fan, don't follow it at all. So miss most of the stuff except on the news feed on this site.
Pity.

I used to post a lot when I lived in WA.

I think Tim ? also moved interstate ?

What happened to Fu Manchu ?

Looking at the temps for Perth and I'm sure it wasn't that cold during the day when I lived there. Seems cooler than average this winter ? I remember 20 deg a fair bit in August during the day 18 -20 deg day temps.

I used enjoy learning about Meteorology on this site. It is very quiet here now.

I follow Perth Weather Live on facebook, but the discussions on there are not exactly of a scientific nature....

Nice drop of rain last night and some hefty showers today from the cold pool.

Tim is still in NZ as far as I know, Fu Manchu mostly runs the WAWG twitter page.

We had a cold winter, much colder than average. Less blocking highs which meant fronts could hit WA but the fronts weren't really powerful from the southern ocean. Instead showers and cooler SSW winds than what we got so the daytime max was below average.

Winter 2016 in Albany was cold wet and miserable
started early, May or even April I think
didn't end until end of September

Here we are now, end of October and still getting lousy fronts etc
but at least it has warmed up

having said all that at least we reached our average rainfall
