I'm hoping and praying too. This low has been swirling for days off the coast and not moving towards us. It knows that perth doesn't like rain these days. Please come and give us something because we only have 2weeks of June left and we haven't had any real rain for 2 weeks. My lawn is surviving on the morning dew.

I know it's an unusual occurrence but actual rain is falling at my house.

I've been busy filling up sand bags all day to guard against flash flooding. Rainfall of 10-20 mm will than on parched ground - not.

So far there has been enough rain to wet the path just.

Something is going horribly right for a change. There is a strange noise on the roof which is being caused by rain.

Some of the drops are fairly large as I can heat pinging on my patio roof at times.

What rain? 2mm? This is shaping up to be the dryest June on record. We need a royal commission into this declining rainfall.

Radar is looking good at the moment... nice orange cell might just clip Ocean Reef... if it doesnt it will be VERY close to it... I thought all this current activity and light show was going to pass well south of Perth CBD but looks like north of the river is about to get some good falls and potential light show... looks to still be a far way off the coast... but I hope it keeps tracking on its current path and grows slightly on its northern flank... Ocean Reef looks to be a good look out point right about now...

Yeah few nice rumbles... But of rain, that orange cell passed almost over ocean reef (just south)... But certainly received some rain from it ...

There has been a good line of showers and thunderstorms affecting Greenwood and Marangaroo tonight. My rain gauge has had at least 25 mm and my nephew in Greenwood has had even more because his was already at 25 mm+ before another heavy shower.

I just got up and was surprised that there is no fog. There must be just enough wind to stop it forming.

More the fact it's so warm still, I'd say. Put a jumper on this morning and got hot. Should finally chill a bit once that front comes through on Sunday.

So much for the slight 30% chance of showers overnight. Used that time to try and get the washing done and hang them on the clothes line overnight expecting any shower activity to clear up until tomorrow (today since its 2am) midday. So far I got 15mm since hanging them on the line. Maybe I should leave them out tomorrow
