lol same thing happened to me leaving Burns Beach tonight. Actually a bit of a sand storm too!

Finally some decent rain has just hit the city.

There is a substantial area of rain showing on Perth radar.

Rain is hitting my canvas awning which is on the eastern side of my house. Which is an event that happens rarely.

Weird watching the radar just now and it's showing the rain band shrinking quite rapidly as it moves SSW. Nice drop though.

Driving into Eneabba this afternoon. This storm gave us gusts easily over 100km/h, we observed a gustnado on the leading edge of the storm. Lots of dust.

Caught in the core.

There is 12.5 mm in the rain gauge.

All that nitrogen fertiliser from the lightning has greened up the grass magnificently.

Manage to catch the leading edge from Jindalee beach.

Words can't describe the view of the sunset as the squall line came across. I took a couple of pics but am yet to review them, Amazing. Definitely won't get to see that too often.

From there watching the rain/dust kicking up from the north and working its way down the coast across the land and water was another awesome moment. It looked incredible making its way towards us. It kept coming and we decided it was time to get in the car, only to discover that what we thought was the leading edge of rain was "just" strong wind!

The front made its way overhead and there were some super close GG's; an amazing light show. The rain soon set in and it was time to get moving.

Moved on and found a high point in Alkimos with panoramic views and enjoyed the best light show in quite a long time. Sparks were being thrown from every direction and super consistently, with intense wind and rain. Definitely the best storm I've been able to witness and enjoy in a long time!

If we reach 35C today, we're in for one serious storm. Look at that CAPE!

Wow that's one sweet looking sounding. Haven't seen one like that for a while, pretty much no cap at all, and yeah, CAPE and LI are cranking.

My sister, nephew and I enjoyed the sound and light show last night. So many multiple flashes, innumerable 3 flashes at once, lots of 4 flashes at once, some 5+ flashes at once. We also had at least 5 times when the whole sky lit up in Marangaroo.

Did not get much rain at all from the storm(s) about 3.5 mm.

In fact it seems we have entries in that lottery for every day in the coming 8 days or so. As Adam was saying, surely one will pay out!

Just thought I'd comment on this: we got quite a bumper result!
