TC Kate is wandering around in open water. well more like a tropical low by the time it's Jan.
Keeping a watch on the NW and this system is almost certain.
This has been on the cards for some time

Yeah the monsoon season up north is ramping up and tropical cyclone actitvity is on the way.

GFS charts are suggesting that upcoming system would or will head inland at the moment.

Has been quite chilly in the South.
Although day time max may not indicate it, there are long periods of time where wearing a jumper or staying in bed are good options.

http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/perth ... 2hni1.html

Perth is set to sizzle over the coming days with the temperature expected to reach more than 40 degrees on Monday.

Perth has experienced an unusual mild start to summer, but that is all to change on Monday, with the barometer expecting to peak at 41 degrees.

On Sunday, Perth got a taste of the warmer weather with the temperature reaching 35 degrees just after 1.30pm.

If the temperature does soar past 40 degrees on Monday, it will be the first 40-plus day of summer.

And air conditioners could be working overtime during the night, with temperatures only dipping to 24 degrees.

There could be some relief for people living in the east of Perth, with the chance of a thunderstorm expected late on Monday.

And there isn't much respite from the heat over the coming days with the temperature expected to be 37 degrees on Tuesday and 35 degrees on Wednesday.

There is a bit of a cool change just around the corner with Thursday expected to be only 30 degrees.

Does anyone know if the 28Storms YouTube channel still does cyclone evals for WA? Can't see any (just wondering if its on a different site now?) or has he given up entirely? Was always interesting to hear his predictions.

No it doesn't.
I posted the link to oz cyclone chasers one a bit further back in this thread. Not as comprehensive but has the task has been delegated out to them.

At this stage, the tropical low is expected to remain over the coast or too near the coast to become a TC.
Very close monitoring by BoM
