Pretty peculiar weather we've been having this time of year, even got a few spots of drizzle today. Not complaining, pretty much perfect weather for being a human being. Upcoming forecast is showing a continuation of current conditions.

Folks keeping a watch on the medium range models?
Two points of developing interest.
One mentioned in the 3day tropical forecast. Likelihood of development goes from very low to just low on Wednesday so that's as good as a cyclone LOL
The other feature lies in the central Indian Ocean, possible interaction as an extra tropical low with the SW.

I was hoping for some hot weather before I leave Perth for europe but unfortunately apart from a few brief moments of heat it hasn't really got started.

Since this is prolly my last post for 2014, I wish all the members a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2015. :)

Senior climate liaison officer Glenn Cook said the unusually cool start to summer is expected to continue for some time.

"The seasonal temperature outlook for WA suggests a cooler than normal summer is more likely near the west coast (both during the day and overnight), while eastern and northern parts of the state are more likely to be warmer than normal," he told Fairfax Media.

"Last summer was very much above average in western WA last year, and mostly near average, to below average, in the north and east.

"The temperature outlooks suggest this pattern is more likely to be reversed this year."

So what do you think of this guys :?:

Looks like the east coast is getting the hot summer this year and the west coast gonna miss out.

Last year it was reversed.

just read this
https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/256 ... evere-bom/
A drought-inducing El Nino event is still likely this summer but may not be severe, the Bureau of Meteorology says.

The BoM's latest El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) wrap, released this week, says an El Nino event hasn't fully developed but impacts consistent with an El Nino are already present.

Perth forecast description from BOM.

Perth area
Cloudy. Slight (20%) chance of rain. Winds easterly 15 to 25 km/h turning southerly 20 to 30 km/h in the middle of the day.

Or as I would describe it "Rainy with little or no cloud".

Regarding the seasonal outlook, let's look at it in s positive light. If the west coast looks like remaining cooler than average that can only mean the presence of lots of west coast troughs. That has to be favorable for storms east of the west coast.
