Exmouth previous rainfall record 1953

BoM's Karl Bronkhorst has dug this up relating to that event.

Rainfall record was cyclone related where as this deluge of 200mm plus in a couple of days has not been.

Heavy shower in Marangaroo.

Got woken up with the alarm going off. Possible power blip.

Pete says, Northam has been a cat out out of the bag with 59.2mm in a few hours.
That's 3 times their April average.

Northern and Eastern wheatbelt will be out this week getting crops seeded.

Southern wheatbelt should have done well out of this also.

There is 19 mm in my rain gauge. The shower just before 4.00 am ( the alarm went off because of a power blip) put 9 mm in the gauge in about 15 minutes.

Some of the farmers will have to wait for paddocks to dry out a bit so they can drive the tractors and not bog them.

Nothing here...that was because I cleaned all my gutters and got the firewood into the shed. :)

You need to wash your car and leave the wood out..

That is a fascinating bit of graphical imagery. You may open a can of worms with that discussion though! Interesting to see how much dust comes off the Sahara - looks enormous (given there is no legend for the various colors I can only assume what they mean but looks ominous).

Pretty sure the colours represent different aerosols rather than intensity.
