Clouds are trying to block the light from the moon but not very successfully.

I just realised how dry its been. 6mm in 4.5 months here. 70 days since rain unless dew counts.

Last decent rainfall in Marangaroo was 21mm on the 20th of October 2013. There has been no rainfall since 5 December 2013 when Marangaroo had 1mm which makes 75 days and counting. It is so dry that there is the potential of getting bogged driving onto the verge of houses which rely solely on rain.

Bushfire ADVICE for the western part of Wanneroo in the City of Wanneroo
Tuesday 18 February 2014 - 11:25 AM
A bushfire ADVICE has been issued for people near Scenic Drive in the western part of Wanneroo in City of Wanneroo.

You need to be aware and keep up to date.
There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.
Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes.
The fire started between Scenic Drive and San Rosa Road. The fire is burning near Lake Joondalup in Yellagonga National Park.

WHAT TO DO:
Stay alert and monitor your surroundings.
Watch for signs of a bushfire, especially smoke and flames.
Close all doors and windows, and turn off evaporative air conditioners but keep water running through the system if possible.
Read through your bushfire survival plan.
If you do not have a plan decide what you will do if the situation gets worse.

ROAD CLOSURES:
Some roads may be closed and motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.

WHAT FIREFIGHTERS ARE DOING:
Fire crews are on the scene.
Aircraft are assisting ground crews.

KEEP UP TO DATE:
Visit www.dfes.wa.gov.au, call 1300 657 209, follow DFES on Twitter @dfes_wa or listen to news bulletins.

Further information will be released as it becomes available.

It's a moment when your heart sinks into your feet. A dry day and budhland near your home. There's that puff of smoke and winds are blowing straight toward your home.
That happened to me today. such a selfish relief to find out the fire was further away than looked.

Effing DH's who do this stuff to people.

So I can experience some interesting weather I thinking of heading to Venezuala and have a trip to see the Catatumbo Lightning Storm. I really enjoy a good thunderstorm at night.

Luckily I can visit Catatumba without leaving Perth.

Wow, Paul that pic is awesome! All the pics are great really.

Fu you are allowed to be entirely selfish when faced with that possible situation. There are some real tosspots out there sadly.

A recent photo of the Esperance BoM radar didn't seem suspicious or unusual at the time but now looking back...
