I don't think there was any rain in the Busselton region last night. There was a fresh to strong Southerly sea breeze blowing from the data supplied from the Busselton Jetty AWS.

Oh ok, thanks.

Some of you may have seen this

This visualisation is composed of imagery taken by the geostationary satellites of EUMETSAT, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) From 01 Jan-31 Dec, 2013

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHYP1us3RFA

Had to watch it a few times for weather patterns, cyclones/typhoons etc. and the U.S storm season lol.

Awesome :D

Been watching that set up out to the north east for a few hours, not so much now that its dark and I can't see it :P

But it looked like there was some half decent structure and potential out there earlier. The sunset reflecting off of it looked really nice as well. Not sure if anyone happened to get any shots?

Yep a few strikes showing on the WZ tracker, about 100-150km NW of Perth. Can see a few cells around Lancelin moving east mixed up in all the false echoes on the 256km Perth radar.

Overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning looks to go off. Classic set-up that we've seen over the past few summers. NW steering winds dragging moisture into the trough and forcing high based convection in the early hours of the morning.

The storms will be an overnight event like most summer storm set-ups we've seen in the past few years - possibly carrying on well into tomorrow if there's enough moisture in the feed.

Arrgh, stupid weather staying out to the NE. Why can't Perth figure out how to put on a storm...even just a little one...please?? (Withdrawal speaking)

The satellite animation for the last couple of days.
Not so sure the storms in the wheatbelt will produce much.

If I "were" able to head out, I'd be headed for Merredin. Still won't come to much though.

Had some thunder on/off this arvo. Looking promising for later on though - good convection to the NE and W

Yeah deff. go to the Merredin region! And wait for it to come down from the NW :D Then you got the east road towards Kal if need be, or any direction really.

Was at Merriden from 5pm to 7pm today. Had some showers there but no lightning or thunder. Was filling up the car with petrol and one local said we should've been there yesterday. Oh well.
