Wet and windy week ahead for Perth:

http://www.weatherzone.com.au/news/wet- ... erth/22347

Ben McBurney, Saturday September 1, 2012

Perth is looking like experiencing a wet and windy start to spring, as a series of cold fronts impact the city from Monday.

This is likely to come as welcome news to some residents, after the Western Australia capital experienced another dry month. The city only recorded 87mm for August, which is 36mm below average. This also comes after a July that was the driest on record, recording just 35mm.

The first of these fronts will pass through on Monday and into Tuesday, bringing the possibility of falls between 20-40mm. Winds are also likely to be strong, reaching gale force at times, so it would be wise to stay indoors.

Another front may hit the city on Thursday, bringing more gusty winds and the chance of a further 10-20mm.

This will no doubt be a welcome boost to Perth's already struggling dam levels, which currently sit at a miserly 31%, keeping the desalination plants working hard.

Claude (the Cold front) is looking rather well structured in the latest satellite photos.

Weather tomorrow and Tuesday should be interesting.
