Just amazing how it has stalled for so long half on and half off the coast and yet overnight has intensified further with the eye contracting right down. BoM now have it as a Cat 4.

MW images from a couple of hours ago show good internal structure but a bit of a lopsided eye with strongest convection in the south east quadrant while convection in the north east quadrant is significantly weaker.

JTWC and BoM have crossing late this evening into early tomorrow morning, but are still talking about a lot of uncertainty due to how slow moving it is. Still looking at a crossing between PH and Pardoo.

An extraordinary system. PH and communities around will have had 2+ days of gale force winds!

Well defined eye on him now. Anymore tightening and he'll get to a high end cat 4 before crossing.

He's veered away from Port Hedland a bit. Hopefully he stays on that track.

Looks like the eyewall is collapsing.
Seems to be rapidly weakening. A bit more than with cyclones normally.
