Alice Springs - 0% humidity!

Postby Tim S » Fri Oct 19, 2007 1:11 pm

Just noticed that Alice Springs is damn dry at the moment, at 12pm today they had an air temp of 34.7C and a dew point of -47.5C!!  that equates to a relative humidity of 0% (probably 0.1-0.4% as you can never have 0% humidity, except in space maybe :)). Thought at first the readings must be dodgy but the sounding from this morning had a dewpoint of around -20C so it looks kosher!

It was dry and it was the worst dry conditions I have ever felt here in the Alice, The dewpoints and humidity levels have improved since the trough and light rain came through on monday night.
